Advertising Policy
The advertising NEXUS accepts, the categories we restrict, and the categories we prohibit outright.
Scope
This policy applies to every demand partner buying through the NEXUS platform and to all creative transacted through it. Meeting this policy is a condition of platform access. We may reject creative, pause campaigns, or terminate access for breach, and we apply the policy regardless of whether a specific case is listed below.
Partners remain responsible for complying with the law of every market they advertise into, including advertising, consumer protection, and sector-specific regulation. This policy is a floor, not a substitute for that obligation.
Prohibited categories
We do not accept advertising for:
- Illegal goods and services, and any content promoting criminal activity.
- Child sexual abuse material, and any sexual content involving minors.
- Adult and pornographic content.
- Malware, spyware, cryptojacking, and any creative that executes unauthorised code or initiates unrequested downloads.
- Deceptive advertising, including false claims, fake system or virus warnings, fake interface elements, and creative disguised as editorial or as a platform notification.
- Fraudulent financial offers, including Ponzi and pyramid schemes, and guaranteed-return investment claims.
- Counterfeit goods and content infringing another party's intellectual property.
- Weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
- Recreational drugs and drug paraphernalia.
- Content inciting violence, hatred, or discrimination against a person or group.
- Human trafficking and exploitative labour services.
- Hacking and account-takeover services, and services for circumventing security or measurement.
Restricted categories
The following require prior written approval, and run only in markets where they are lawful and only with the licences, disclosures, and age-gating that market requires:
- Gambling and betting, including online casino and sports betting.
- Alcohol.
- Tobacco, vaping, and nicotine products, where permitted at all.
- Pharmaceuticals, prescription products, and online pharmacies.
- Financial products and services, including credit, lending, insurance, and investment products.
- Digital assets and related financial services, subject to the licensing regime of the destination market.
- Dating services.
- Political and issue advertising, subject to the disclosure and transparency rules of the destination market.
- Health claims, supplements, and weight-loss products.
Targeting standards
Advertising must not be targeted on the basis of protected characteristics, including race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or health condition. Advertising must not be directed at children, and audiences must not be built to identify or exploit vulnerable groups. Restricted categories must be age-gated where the destination market requires it.
Creative and technical standards
Creative must render within its allotted placement and must not:
- Play audio automatically without user interaction.
- Open pop-ups, pop-unders, or new windows without a user-initiated click.
- Redirect automatically, or initiate a download without consent.
- Obscure page content, simulate a cursor, or place false close buttons.
- Exceed the file size, dimension, or duration specification for the placement.
- Misrepresent the advertiser, or use a landing page inconsistent with the creative.
Landing pages must be functional, must match the advertised offer, and must disclose the identity of the advertiser.
Enforcement
We review creative before and during delivery and act on partner and publisher reports. Depending on severity we may reject creative, pause a campaign, suspend platform access, or terminate the agreement. Breach of the prohibited categories is treated as material breach.
